Craft Lightning–Holiday Napkin Rings
Usually when the holidays roll around my attention focuses on ornaments and gift-making but this year I’m also looking towards our dining room table and thinking…napkin rings! Surely the kids and I can come up with an easy napkin ring that takes less than 15 minutes to make, right?
Supplies
- toilet paper rolls
- yarn
- stapler
- scissors
- hot glue gun
Directions for Napkin Ring #1
This was our original project idea. Cut the roll into four pieces. Tie the yarn around it and then start wrapping through the roll so that it is completely covered in yarn. Glue your yarn down on the inside of the ring once you’ve got it covered to your satisfaction.
Honestly, I like the look of this one better…but, it took me nearly 6 minutes to make just one. Not bad but we could do better.
Directions for Napkin Ring #2
For the life of me I cannot remember the name of this kind of yarn but it’s fun, bright, and I love it! To get these rings started go ahead and cut them into four pieces like before. Instead of tying, just staple the yarn down onto the top of the roll and start wrapping around the outside of the ring.
Be careful around the edges, it’s okay if a little of the roll shows. Once you’ve got the majority of the roll covered go ahead and staple your end down too.
Yes, the staple shows, but I was able to get four of these done in 15 minutes AND these were the rings that got my family’s vote of approval.

That fuzzy yarn one is my fave! :)
