#NUO2013 Painted Acorn Ornaments
Acorns, they’re so little they get lost on most Christmas trees but I still love them! There are so many different ways to create ornaments with them but I chose what I thought would be the easiest. In the end, it wasn’t extremely hard, BUT, it wasn’t as foolproof as I’d hoped it would be!
Supplies
- Acorns with their caps
- paint
- glue
- upholstery needle
- baker’s twine
We started off by wiping clean all of our nuts and popping their tops off.
Then things got messy as we attempted to paint them. Essie chose to paint hers yellow and silver, I stuck with good ole white.
It took a few layers before we got them as covered as we wanted.
Next up I used the upholstery needle to run the baker’s twine through the cap. It was kind of hard, just be careful and patient.
The I put a bit of plain school glue in the cap, replaced the nut, and let them dry.
They are painfully little but I have a couple of miniature trees they will work perfectly on!
Remember to come back by tonight for the daily NUO2013 wrap-up!
Great project !!
